Books on the grocery store shelves
There are two jobs that I’ve always wanted to have: owning a book store and being an international translator.
Since I was in high school, I’ve always dreamed of owning my own book store with a coffee shop. I imagined it would be a place where people would meet and discuss art, literature, politics, religion, and world events. I envisioned it to be a place to share ideas and to meet a diverse group of people.
Becoming an international translator is one of the reasons why I majored in a foreign language. I saw myself as a person travelling the world and translating for business people and world leaders. After I graduated, I was drawn to the education field and that seems to suit me best. I think I like the fantasy of being a translator more than the reality.
